San Marco bell tower, El parón de casa (the Landlord) for Venetians, is one of the city’s most important landmarks and one of the tallest bell towers in Italy.
Its lowest part, the loggetta, was designed by Jacopo Sansovino. Following the collapse of the bell tower in 1902, it was completely destroyed and was rebuilt in 1912 using as much of the original material as possible.
This print portrays its arches, niches and colonnades, a meticulous illustration of its precious details.
